Configuring Watcher Settings in Selki

Each Watcher (i.e., monitored domain) in Selki includes a customizable Settings panel where users can adjust monitoring preferences, apply security exclusions, and manage advanced options. This guide walks through each tab: General, Security, and Advanced.

Watcher Settings

General Settings

Under the General tab, you can manage basic configuration settings for your Watcher.

Name

  • You can update the name of the Watcher (e.g., organization or campaign name).
  • This name appears in all reports, dashboards, and alerts.

Domain Monitoring

  • The domain associated with this Watcher (e.g., yourcompany.cl) is displayed here.
  • Note: This field is locked once the Watcher is created and cannot be changed.

Status Controls

  • Monitoring Toggle: Turn this off to temporarily pause threat detection for this domain. No new credentials will be shown while paused.
  • Notifications Toggle: Enable or disable real-time alerts for this Watcher.

Don't forget to click Save Changes after making updates.

Security Settings

This section allows you to exclude specific data from monitoring. This is useful for test environments, non-sensitive accounts, or known sources you don't wish to track.

Available Exclusion Fields:

  • Ignored Emails: One email per line (e.g., test@company.com)
  • Ignored IPs: Enter IPs to be excluded from detection results
  • Ignored URLs: Exclude specific login pages or web services
🧠 Tip: Use exclusions sparingly. Over-filtering can result in missed threat detections.

Advanced Settings

The Advanced tab provides metadata and lifecycle controls for your Watcher.

Watcher Information

  • Created On: Timestamp when the Watcher was originally set up
  • ID: Unique internal identifier for reference
  • Last Scan: Date and time of the most recent threat scan

🚨Danger Zone

If you no longer want to monitor this domain:

  • Click Delete Watcher

⚠️ This action is irreversible and will remove all associated threat data and credentials.
